The purpose of this study is to offer batterers the knowledge of the scriptural definition of abuse, and its guidelines for the batterer and the victim.

We will discuss:

  • Recognition that this behavior is sinful,
  • Repentance for wrongdoing,
  • Resolve to change the behavior,
  • Reconciliation to God and family, and
  • Offering the battered woman an alternative to the popularly held view that the only option for an abused woman is to leave forever.
  1. Recognition of violence as sin: Isaiah 59:1-15
  2. Repentance focused on himself: Romans 2:1-16
  3. Resolve to be like God: Romans 5
  4. Reconcile himself to God's will: Romans 12
