The Unknown God. Part2
Acts 17:23 . Paul was qualified to tell the Athenians about the unknown god because of his experience on the road to Damascus. Have you had an experience with God that convinced you that He is real?
We represent an unseen God – His presence is locked up inside of His people. He is love. He does not love you less when you sin – He would be less “God” if He did.
We see God through our senses and feelings. Hunger and thirst after God. He’s a gentleman and will not intrude. You must open the door to God, and that may mean that you have to close other doors.
Jesus is revealing Himself to the Muslim world through dreams and visions. Isaiah 19:18-25 is being fulfilled.
To know God is to know about God. We must know that:
1. He is a jealous God. You must love Him with all of your being. Luke 14:26 . He will not play second fiddle to anyone or anything. Hate in the context of Luke 14:26 means to love your mother, father, sister, brother, etc. less than you love God. He must be more valuable to you than anyone or anything. What you think about most of the time is your God.
2. He has an affinity about His name. Every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. Ezekiel 36:21-23 . He has a reputation to protect. All creation awaited the revealing of His name. The first time it was revealed to be Jesus was when it was revealed to Mary.
Jesus is the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. It is not enough just to speak with tongues – you must be baptized in the name of Jesus. Acts 10 . How can you be in the bride if you don’t have the bridegroom’s name? You must be buried in “Him” not “them” in baptism. Acts 2:38 .
3. He is an affectionate God. Matthew 16 .
