The purpose of this study is to offer batterers the knowledge of the scriptural definition of abuse, and its guidelines for the batterer and the victim.
We will discuss:
- Recognition that this behavior is sinful,
- Repentance for wrongdoing,
- Resolve to change the behavior,
- Reconciliation to God and family, and
- Offering the battered woman an alternative to the popularly held view that the only option for an abused woman is to leave forever.
- Recognition of violence as sin: Isaiah 59:1-15
- Repentance focused on himself: Romans 2:1-16
- Resolve to be like God: Romans 5
- Reconcile himself to God's will: Romans 12
